| The
Red Salon The Red Salon – also named after the red silk damask hangings – was in former times the Prince’s reception room. Here Prince Eugene received, amongst others, ambassadors, diplomatic delegations and other highly important visitors. Today the Red Salon is decorated with an oil painting that shows the Prince in the classical pose of a successful army commander: mounted on a white horse balanced on its hindquarters in the classic levade. Right and left are the pictures of two emperors whom Eugene served: Joseph I and Charles VI. |
